From the Board of Trustees
by Annie Senol, Vice-President
The Board is pleased to announce that past President Margaret Henderson was nominated by our Nominating Committee and approved unanimously by the Board of Trustees to fill the vacancy left by Marie Dupree as Board Treasurer at the end of this year. Margaret’s term will beginning January 1, 2026, through this current fiscal year. The Congregation will elect a Treasurer at our Annual Meeting in June. The UUCD Bylaws direct that “[a]ny vacancy shall be filled by the Board upon the recommendation of the Nominating Team. Trustees so appointed shall serve through the current fiscal year. At the Annual Meeting following the occurrence of the vacancy, a Trustee shall be elected for the remainder of the term of such vacancy.”
Board of Trustee at Large Jeff Asher has made the decision to step away from Board work after two and a half years of considerable service.
The Board approved a new Inclement Weather Policy. When inclement weather is imminent, cancelling services will no longer be the default choice, however, each of us should decide for ourselves whether we will join in person or on Zoom. The Board welcomes questions and comments as we try out this new Inclement Weather Cancellation Policy
UU Danbury Programming Inclement Weather Cancellation Policy
Revision Dec. 17, 2025
The minister in collaboration with the rest of the program staff will make the decision to cancel Sunday morning programming. Organizers of non-Sunday morning programs will follow the same procedures. Programming may be cancelled outright or programs may be moved to Zoom or a combination of these options. A decision to cancel and/or move to Zoom will be made as early as is reasonable. Cancellation communications will specify which programming and if programming is moved to Zoom or cancelled outright once a decision is made to cancel or move to Zoom.
