July 5 – American Lessons and Carols at 250 – Anja Westenberg and Doug Williams
Anya and Doug will lead us through a birthday celebration of readings and songs for the United States of America the Beautiful (and not so Beautiful).
July 12 – Love & Acceptance: Exploring The Spirituality in Pop Songs – Dan Brodax and Robert Markowitz
Musician/songwriter Dan Brodax is inviting his good friend Robert Markowitz (author, and criminal lawyer turned children’s musical entertainer) to explore Love & Acceptance through the lens of Robert’s book entitled “The spirituality in Pop Songs”
July 19 – Co-existence in America: Collaboration, Forgiveness, and Common Ground – Jeremy Stein
The service will explore communication, understanding, and dealing with those whose
views of the world and reality differ from our own
July 26 – Holding On and Letting Go: Reflections on Navigating the Human Condition – Rev. Suze Shaner-Brodax
As Henry Ellis said, “All the art of living lies in a fine mingling of letting go and holding on.” Inherent in the human condition is that we hold on to people, places and situations – or we let them go – voluntarily or involuntarily. This sermon will explore aspects of these ways of being – when and how they promote health, happiness or suffering. There will be a participative component.
August 2 – We Need Humor to Sustain Us – Stanley Heller
Mixed in between jokes, puns, cartoons, limericks, sarcasm and funny videos, Stanley Heller will give a talk about uses and the ethics of humor. He believes in the power of human to entertain the good and mock the wicked. Expect laughter!
August 9 – The Life and Legacy of Dorothy Day – Dale Hill and Lynn Taborsak
Dale and Lynn will reflect on the life and legacy of Dorothy Day and her influence on communities like our own.
August 16 – Muslims in the United States part 2 – Anne Senol
Annie will present a follow-up to the service she presented on July 2, 2023. Muslims have been here since the first Spanish conquistadors explored the land that would become the United States. We’ll share a few of their stories and continue in gratitude for the gifts they brought us.

August 30 – How Do We Know? Finding Clarity in a Noisy World – Lisa Kathleen Tancredi with Annie Senol
Every day we are pulled in countless directions by expectations, opinions, fears, desires, and the endless noise of modern life. How do we know which voice to trust? How do we recognize the difference between fear, conditioning, and the deeper wisdom that can guide us toward what is truly right for us? In this talk, Lisa Kathleen Tancredi explores what psychology, spirituality, and neuroscience have to say about intuition and inner knowing, and shares practical ways to recognize and strengthen our connection to this deeper guidance. She will also lead participants through a simple somatic practice to help access greater clarity, balance, and insight.
