What is it? How is it celebrated around the world? The shortest day of the year is December 21st. Traditionally it coincides with the Winter Solstice, when the earth tilts away from the sun making the darkness and the light the same amount of time. Throughout the ages, people have been fascinated with this phenomenon. This service will discuss some of the traditions celebrated today that are directly linked to the Solstice.
