UUCD’s 200th Anniversary Events

Special events and activities commemorating our congregation’s 200th anniversary are planned this fall leading up to our anniversary date which is actually December 9. On that date in 1822 a Universalist society was formed on Great Plain in Danbury, Connecticut. The present-day Unitarian Universalist Congregation of Danbury (UUCD) traces our history to that date and those founders.

A 200th Anniversary Luncheon will be held after the service on October 16.

A special guest will be speaking that Sunday. Come celebrate our 200th Anniversary with us! A zoom link to the service will be provided for those who cannot attend.

Three previous UUCD ministers who many of us remember will be speaking this Fall; leading up to our anniversary date.

Rev. Barbara Pescan         September 18

Rev. Barbara Fast           October 9

Rev. Daniel O’Connell     November 6

Douglas H. Parkhurst, a longtime member has been compiling a history of our congregation called, Notes on Two Hundred Years (and More) which has been added as blog posts here on our website.

A new quilt commemorating our history is being stitched together.
