Other Opportunities for Service
The Hospitality Team aims to offer a coffee and tea and possibly light snack to our members after the service. By doing this, they encourage visitors to get acquainted with the community. Members and visitors have time to to socialize, discuss the service, and enjoy being together
The Music Ministry provides music to enhance Sunday services. In addition to our Music Director, Jerry Phelps, who plays the piano for most services and leads our choir, performances by other instrumental and vocal groups, largely from our own congregation, are a source of joy. We welcome the participation of musicians in our congregation. To find out bout joining our choir, speak to a choir member or contact our Music Director, Jerry Phelps firstname.lastname@example.org
The Religious Education Ministry works with the Director of Religious Education email@example.com to develop and implement programs for youth from pre-school to 12th grade. An Inclusion Ministry works to create a welcoming space for all children, youth and families at UU Danbury. Our Family Ministry Team is a committee of those who volunteer on behalf of our ministries for children and youth.
The Sunday Services Ministry handles organization and logistics for services. They also develop and coordinate member-led services, including services during the summer, by connecting with other teams, UU Danbury members, and outside speakers.
The Membership Team arranges for welcoming, orientation and ongoing stewardship of potential and current members and friends.
The Caring Circle arranges meals, transportation, calls and visits for members’ short term needs.
The Auction Committee has traditionally organized yearly fund raising auctions that benefit our congregation and community-based organizations that help marginalized people in the greater Danbury area. Our auctions creatively offer goods, services and social events.
The Finance Team is responsible for analysis, planning, and management of financial transactions, including endowments and annual budgeting.
The Building and Grounds Team arranges for maintenance and care of UU Danbury’s facilities using volunteer and professional workers.
The Board of Trustees, made up of elected members, provides direction and management of the congregation’s property, employees and business affairs.
