Organizing a Thanksgiving Dinner
Some of us have been talking about creating a Thanksgiving dinner together in Fellowship Hall where each of us brings a dish to share, and we break bread and celebrate together– kind of on the model of the Passover Seders we had before the pandemic. If you would like to join us contact Nancy Hershatter.
UUCD Men Conversing over Coffee
We meetson the second Wednesday of each month. Our next meeting is on Wednesday, November 9, at 9:30 a.m. at UUCD in the Fellowship Hall Lower Level. For more information contact Gary Mummert or Joe Gillotti.
All aspects of this class are designed to lead a person to a feeling of wellness and learning to become calmer. Come join our happy group, it’s great value in so many ways, on Mondays 3:00 – 4:00 p.m.at UUCD. Participants must contact their doctor or medical provider for approval before attending this Chair Yoga Class. To register, or if you have questions or concerns, contact Joe Gillotti any evening during the week after 7:00 pm.
Our monthly Community Dinners Experiment concludes with a souper supper on November 9!
We will assess the experiment and decide whether or not to continue the community dinners as is, adjust it with a few tweaks, or perhaps let it go. We need to know if this is something you think is important for us to continue and whether or not you will participate. November’s dinner will offer a variety of soups, some salad, and a simple dessert. Beverages will also be available and efforts will be made to have all food ingredients labeled and allergies accommodated. Generous UUCD cooks will once again be preparing the food! Bring yourself and your appetite to the Fellowship Hall. Gathering will begin at 5:45 and dinner will be available at 6pm. We will move into programming at 6:40, with a choice of discussion, activity, or choir rehearsal. The discussion and activity will end around 7:30 and choir rehearsal will end at 8:30. Bring family and friends and be sure to RSVP. If you have not previously helped with set up or clean up, please consider signing up to do so in order to spread the work around. Thank you.
Sunday, December 4th – Greening the Fellowship Hall after the service We will have a great time decorating our sacred space. This is for all ages and we may order pizza to enjoy while we decorate! If you have some lightly used decorations you’re willing to donate, please contact the office or Sierra-Marie.
Friday, December 9th – Continuing the 200th Anniversary Celebration This is the actual date of our anniversary and we will celebrate with a decadent dessert reception at 7:30pm. Our 200th Anniversary quilt will be unveiled and special music will be performed.
