Saturday, June 14th – Suze Shaner-Brodax and Dan Brodax are facilitating Movies with a Message, using Spiritual Cinema’s movie shorts each month from 6:30 – 8:30 p.m. These nights consist of 1-3 short movies that explore the big questions about life and living (i.e, Who are we? Why are we here? Where are we bound? and What can we become when we live at our highest level of potential?) with discussion afterwards. We will supply water and popcorn. Feel free to bring your takeout dinner. Donations to UUCD gratefully accepted.
Our own Randy Becker is hosting a book launch and signing party for his newest book, PERRYBURG: An Autobiography of a City, on Thursday, June 5, at 7pm, at the Ridgefield Public Library. Ridgefield Poet Laureate Ira Joe Fisher will interview Randy about the book – its creation, themes, and enigmas. The event is free and open to the public. The Ridgefield Library is located on the corner of Main Street (CT-35) and Prospect Street, with ample free parking behind the library. Books on the Common is co-sponsoring the event and will have copies for purchase. Rumor has it that some Cake Box goodies will be served! Click here for more information.
