Mindful Eating: Health, Ethics, and Environmental Justice

We are sharing this opportunity from Fourth Universalist Society and All Souls NYC. They are hosting an upcoming two-part Adult Education series on Zoom. You are welcome to attend

A Two-Part Adult Education Series

This two-part Adult Education series, in conjunction with the All Souls NYC Food Matters Study Group, explores Mindful Eating as both a personal health practice and a form of ethical and environmental engagement. Grounded in values central to Unitarian Universalism and many other faiths and ethical traditions, the series invites participants to consider how everyday food choices can nourish our bodies while also promoting justice for people, animals, and the planet.

Across two evenings, we will explore mindful eating from complementary perspectives: first, through the lens of personal health and well-being, and then through the broader impacts of our food systems on climate, ecology, and social equity. Each session combines storytelling, expert perspectives, and facilitated discussion, with ample time for questions and shared reflection. Participants are encouraged to explore practical, compassionate next steps toward a more mindful, plant-forward approach to eating—at whatever pace feels right.
